Das vom Tierschutz Schwarzenbek und Umgebung e. V. betriebene Tierheim in Schleswig-Holstein bietet Platz für rund 60 Katzen und 8 Hunde. Der bereits seit 1958 aktive, weitgehend ehrenamtlich geführte Verein kümmert sich um die Versorgung und Vermittlung von Fund- und Abgabetieren. Ein besonderer Schwerpunkt der Tierschutzarbeit liegt zudem auf der Kastration wildlebender Katzen sowie dem Aufpäppeln und Sozialisieren von Katzenwelpen.
