Breed Profile
Kai: The Kai is a medium-sized, sturdy dog breed from Japan that belongs to the group of Spitz and primitive type dogs. Originally, the Kai was bred as a hunting dog for wild boars and other large game. Its compact body structure, erect ears, and bushy, upward-curved tail give it a vigilant yet friendly appearance. The Kai is characterized by its high intelligence, loyalty, and adaptability. Within the breed, there are no clearly separated lines like in Labradors or German Shepherds, but individual dogs vary in temperament and appearance depending on the breeding line. The Kai is a versatile companion, valued both as a family dog and as a working dog.

History
Kai: The history of the Kai dog is closely linked to the mountainous regions of Japan, where it has been valued for centuries as a versatile working dog. Originally, the Kai was bred for hunting wild boar and birds, with its endurance, agility, and keen hearing being particularly prized. The breed developed in isolation in Yamanashi Prefecture and only became known outside Japan in the 20th century. Today, the Kai is considered a National Treasure of Japan and is appreciated both as a loyal companion and as a capable hunting dog.

Training & Education
Border Collie: Border Collies are extremely intelligent and eager-to-work dogs that require consistent and varied activities. They love to be mentally and physically challenged, which is why training sessions should ideally be playful and varied. Due to their strong herding and working instinct, they are excellent for dog sports such as agility, obedience, or flyball. It is important that you teach your Border Collie early on to tolerate frustration and control impulses to avoid unwanted behavior. A positive, reward-based training approach strengthens the bond between you and your dog and promotes its willingness to learn. Border Collies need a lot of time and commitment to reach their full potential – those who invest this gain a loyal, highly motivated, and versatile companion.
Nutrition & Care
Golden Retriever: Golden Retrievers are friendly and active dogs that require a balanced diet to stay healthy and fit. High-quality food with a good proportion of proteins and essential nutrients supports their energy and promotes a shiny coat. Be careful to avoid overweight, as Golden Retrievers can be prone to gaining weight. The dense, water-repellent coat of the Golden Retriever consists of a soft undercoat and longer topcoat. Regular brushing, ideally 2-3 times a week, helps prevent matting and removes loose hair. They shed more especially during the coat change in spring and autumn. Golden Retrievers adapt well to the Central European climate. Their coat protects them from the cold, but in high temperatures, sufficient shade and water should be provided to avoid overheating.
