History
The history of the Alaskan Klee Kai begins in the 1970s in the USA. Breeder Linda Spurlin wanted a smaller dog that resembled the appearance and temperament of the Alaskan Malamute but was better suited for apartment living. Through targeted crossbreeding with various Nordic dog breeds, the Alaskan Klee Kai was created, combining the characteristics of a Husky in a compact form. The breed was officially recognized in the 1990s and has since been popular as an active and intelligent companion dog.
