About Cesky Terrier

Die zunächst als "Böhmischer Terrier" bekannte Rasse wurde im Jahr 1959 zum ersten Mal unter der Bezeichnung "Cesky Terrier" ausgestellt. Offizielle Anerkennung durch die FCI fand sie jedoch als Rasse erst im Jahr 1963. Nach Deutschland wurden bereits 1967 zwei Exemplare exportiert. Aber erst im Jahr 1987 fiel der erste Wurf im Klub für Terrier. Bis heute sind erst wenig mehr als 700 Zuchtbuch-Eintragungen zu verzeichnen, was zeigt, dass noch eine Menge Pionierarbeit geleistet werden muss, um der Rasse zu größerer Bekanntheit und Beliebtheit zu verhelfen. Obwohl der Cesky heutzutage eher als Gesellschaftshund gezüchtet und verwendet wird, besitzt er nach wie vor die Fähigkeit für eine erfolgreiche Raubwildjagd im Bau und den jagdlichen Gebrauch im Feld. Er ist bei seiner Arbeit zäh und hart, jedoch nicht kopflos aggressiv.
