The Shorkie combines the playful, people-oriented nature of the Shih Tzu with the alertness and temperament of the Yorkshire Terrier. Both parent breeds are pure companion dogs with no working background; accordingly, the Shorkie is primarily suited to being close to humans and is not fit for kennel housing.
