Discover puppies, planned litters from verified breeders, or public listings for shelter dogs across the country. Confirm availability directly with the shelter.
HonestDog brings together verified Bernese Mountain Dog breeders with available puppies, planned litters, and Bernese Mountain Dog dogs from shelters – all in one place. Every breeder is screened for responsible practices.
The cost of a Bernese Mountain Dog varies by source. Breeder puppies vary based on pedigree and health testing. Shelter adoption fees are typically €200 – €400.
Both options have advantages. With a breeder, you know the lineage and health history. From a shelter, you give a dog a second chance – often already trained and socialized. HonestDog supports both paths.
Watch out for unrealistically low prices, missing health documentation, and pressure to buy quickly. Reputable breeders welcome visits and answer all questions openly. All providers on HonestDog are verified.

Bernese Mountain Dogs are considered sociable, calm dogs. They can also be territorial and wary, as well as unfriendly towards strangers. As with many large breeds, life expectancy is rather short. Common problems include musculoskeletal disorders and cancer.

We show what's on file: who the breeders are, how they work and which health records they've uploaded. That way you can form your own picture.
Every breeder on HonestDog has their identity and documents checked before their profile goes live. Health records they upload are shown on the profile, so you can see exactly what has been tested.
Before a breeder profile goes live, we check identity, club membership or breeding permit, and photos of the breeding environment. HonestDog puts you in touch with the breeder and doesn't sell dogs itself — we can't guarantee any individual dog.
We've already checked the breeders' documents and gathered the details, so you can skip the endless research and focus on finding the right puppy for your family.
We connect dog lovers with responsible breeders and shelters to ensure every dog finds the perfect home.
