Apricot in the Poodle

The Apricot Poodle displays a uniform, warm peachy to soft orange tone throughout its dense, curly coat. Based on pheomelanin pigmentation, the coat possesses a healthy, natural sheen without any white markings. Puppies are often born with a slightly richer or deeper shade that typically clears and lightens into an even apricot as the adult coat matures. The nose, eye rims, and lips are properly pigmented in dark brown or solid black. Under the official FCI breed standard (Standard No. 172), apricot is fully accepted and officially grouped within the fawn spectrum (orange fawn). It is a well-established and regularly bred solid color variation across all four recognized Poodle sizes (Standard, Medium, Miniature, and Toy) in breeding programs worldwide.
