White in the Poodle

The White Poodle features an entirely solid, pure white coat characterized by dense, fine curls or corded hair. Ideally, the woolly textured coat displays a bright, uniform tone without yellow cast. Puppies may occasionally be born with a faint champagne or biscuit shading—particularly around the ears—which typically clears completely to a pristine pure white as the adult coat matures. The skin beneath shows dark, silvery pigmentation, contrasted by black points on the nose, eye rims, and paw pads. As one of the foundational and historically significant colors of the breed, white is widely represented in litters across all four recognized size varieties, from Toy to Standard Poodle. The Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI Standard No. 172) fully recognizes solid white as an official breed standard color.
